The file contains an incomplete autograph manuscript of the poem ‘The Blue Devil’, which was written by Praed around 1824.
Also contained in the file:
- A typed copy of the poem and autograph letters from A.F. Outram, whose grandfather came into possession of the manuscript when he was at Eton with Praed.
- A letter from Derek Hudson to Henry Martin regarding quoting the poem in his biography of Praed (the poem is partially quoted on p.101 of ‘A Poet in Parliament’)
