Lady Susan Young and Sir George Young collection: ‘Stories and anecdotes’ by W. Praed
Item
[1813]
1 notebook
The notebook contains autograph short stories, often only one or two pages in length, and verse. The book was dedicated to ‘Miss Praed’ and was sent to Susan and Elizabeth Praed. The dedication remarks that the author believe it to be ‘badly written but I hope you will forgive them as it is my first trial’.
The notebook has a print of Tamworth Castle on the front and includes later annotations by Sir George Young to state that he believes the writer to be Winthrop Praed, rather than William Mackworth Praed
