Content description
Sir George Young was the nephew of Winthrop Praed and was responsible for compiling much of the material that constitutes the Pread-Young archive. This sub-series contains papers that related directly to him and includes personal papers such as his notebooks and correspondence, as well as printed material that he collected. The papers give a good insight into his work in getting Praed’s poems published; however they offer a limited amount of material on his own personal career as a civil servant
