Content description
The letter thanks James for his kindness during Young’s recent visit to Eton College and provides an extract from his mother’s (Lady Susan Young nee Praed) diary of a visit to Eton when he was a child. The letter also discusses influences on Winthrop Macwroth Praed’s work and a book Young sent to James.

The letter was found by Elias Kupfermann in a privately printed book by Sir George Young, 3rd Bt, (1837-1930) called ‘Young of Formosa’
