Content description
88 autograph letters from Grizel Hartley to Cynthia Wedderburn. The letters are mostly dated with month and day only, although a small number have been dated to particular years on internal evidence and others can be assigned post quem dates on the basis of where they were written. Most were written from Eton College or Dorney House; other locations include St Catherine's, Argyll; Dial House, Marlow; the University Women's Club, London; Hatherop Castle, nr Cirencester; Idbury Manor, Kingsbury, Oxon. Also included is the order of service for a Thanksgiving for the life of Hubert Hartley at Eton on 11 February 1977.

The letters were collected by Cynthia Wedderburn, the recipient. Her relationship to Grizel Hartley is not known.
