The papers are primarily made up of four large scrapbooks, compiled by Caccia to record his time in the U.S.A and include both official papers and personal papers and ephemera during his stay. Also included are press cuttings and correspondence belonging to Nancy Caccia.
Also included is a scrapbook covering the period after his return from the U.S.A in 1961 and his work as Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Office from 1962-1965. In addition, from 1964 he was also Head of the Diplomatic Service.
