The autograph letters are mainly addressed to his mother, although the occasional letter is addressed to his father.
They describe his early experiences at the school and his progress in his studies. A letters dated November 1918 describes the armistice celebrations at the school. The later letters also describe his growing love of poetry and acting as well as his involvement with the ‘Eton Candle’ and his role in setting up the Eton Society of Arts.
