Content description
A series of guidebooks to various areas of Britain published in conjunction with the Festival of Britain. The complete series covered the whole of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, dividing the country into different districts. They were designed to give facts about scenery, monuments, buildings, natural history and people and their work.
The guides were published for The Festival of Britain Office, London: Collins, 1951. The general editor of the series was Geoffrey Grigson.
