Letters from Ezra Pound’s wife and their son Omar.
The letters from Dorothy concern Ezra Pound, who she now rarely sees, his health and his poetry, as well as their son Omar.
The letters from Omar talk about poetry, particularly Persian/Arabic poetry, asking for Merchant’s help in getting a job in teaching, and talk about his later career as a teacher. Copies of some of Omar’s poems are included in the file.
The letters from both also discuss Merchant proposal to publish a small volume intitled ‘Portrait of Ezra Pound’
The file also contains several carbon copies of Merchant’s letters to both Dorothy and Omar Pound as well as other related correspondence.
The files include newspaper cuttings and other papers including empty envelopes where the letters were already removed
