Edward Barrett (1791-1819) was the third son of Samuel Barrett (1765-1794) and Elizabeth Barrett Williams (1754-1834). An officer in the British Army, Light Dragoon Regiment, he served in Portugal and Spain under the Duke of Wellington. Wounded 1814 in battle at ?Toulouse in April 1814; he also fought at Battle of Waterloo and was promoted to Captain. He returned to Jamaica after 1816, but his health did not improve and he died in 1819.
