Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett-Browning collection: Letters from Elizabeth Barrett-Browning to Eliza Ogilvy
File
Eliza Ogilvy (1822-1912) was a poet who, after becoming friends with the Brownings from 1848 onwards, also published a memoir of Elizabeth Barrett-Browning that appeared in an edition of Elizabeth's poems published by Frederick Warne and Company in 1893. After being introduced to the Brownings in 1848, the Ogilvys saw much of each other at Bagni di Lucca in the summer of 1849 before eventually taking the apartment above them in the Palazzo Guidi, Florence.
