Five receipts for payment signed by Browning ; copy of agreement between Browning and Chapman Hall ; two Smith, Elder & Co. memos relating to Browning ; authorisation for G. F. Watts to use portrait of Browning ; Stationer's Hall receipts about 'Asolando', 1894 ; autograph letter from Macmillan, possibly to Browning, about 'Collected Poems', 1894 ; Percy Lubbock receipt and memo about Browning ; letters relating to Browning's American copyright and printing ; W. Hall Griffin receipt about 'The Ring and the Book' ; two typed letters from John Lane referencing the Hosmer Book ; autograph lettersand receipts from Frederick G. Kenyon about Browning books ; Edward Berdoe receipt about 'Biographical and Historical Notes', 1894.

Given by Reginald Smith's widow (ca. 1914) to the publisher John Murray who had bought out the publishing firm of Smith Elder.
