File
[18--]
1 envelope and 1 framed manuscript
Three autograph manuscripts by Elizabeth Barrett-Browning, one of which is a facsimile:
1. Autograph manuscript titled 'Supplement to the Postscript'. Undated, two sides of a single leaf, ink.
2. Autograph manuscript of a poem possibly titled 'To Robert Lytton' (imperfect manuscript) by Elizabeth Barrett-Browning, the first line being "O noble heart, noble soul, live". It was previously in the possession of Sarianna Browning, who copied onto a large sheet the full text of the imperfect stanzas in Elizabeth's original manuscript. Both versions are now framed together. Purportedly hung on the wall in George Smith's office, the Brownings' publisher.
3. Facsimile of 'The North and the South' .
Also included is a copy of the Browning marriage certificate.
