Autograph manuscripts of 'Recollections of Mrs Browning' and poems by Eliza Anne Ogilvy

Eliza Ogilvy was a poet who, after becoming friends with the Brownings from 1848 onwards, also published a memoir of Elizabeth Barrett-Browning that appeared in an edition of Elizabeth's poems published by Frederick Warne and Company in 1893. After being introduced to the Brownings in 1848, the Ogilvys saw much of each other at Bagni di Lucca in the summer of 1849 before eventually taking the apartment above them in the Palazzo Guidi, Florence.

Eliza Ogilvy's "Recollections of Mrs Browning", six leaves, is a draft manuscript of her memoir of Elizabeth Barrett-Browning published in 1893. There is also a small notebook bound in red morocco containing autograph poems.
The papers came with a series of autograph letters from Elizabeth Barrett-Browning to Eliza Ogilvy (MS 682 01 03 02).
