Portrait photographs of Pen Barrett-Browning and related people, including his wife Fannie Coddington and members of his household staff.
There are photographs of Pen at various stages of his life, including childhood and adolescence. There are formal portraits of Pen, including one taken c.1890 by W. H. Grove and a later, more informal, portrait taken in Asolo. The collection also has twenty eight photographs of Pen on horseback, most taken by Romanelli in Asolo and Antella, ten photographs of Pen and his household, a photograph of Pen and his dogs, a wedding photograph, two photographs of Pen and Fannie at a later stage in their marriage and a formal portrait photograph of Fannie aged 20.
The oversized portrait is of Robert Browning and Pen Barrett-Browning on Christmas Eve, 1869.

The c.1890 portrait of Pen was given to Michael Meredith by Elaine Baly in 1989. The photographs of Pen on horseback were given to Michael Meredith by Nigel Thompson in 1983.
