Photographs of original photographs or paintings of Pen, including two photographs of a portrait by Hamilton Wild (one with the date and place in Robert Browning's hand), a photograph of Pen returning to the Rizzonico (once mistaken for Robert Browning), three enlarged versions of the photographs of Pen on horseback and a collection of photographs and negatives of Pen and household staff in his gardens.
Provenance
One of the photographs of the Hamilton Wild portrait was previously owned by Sarianna Browning and then Fannie Coddington. It is inscribed by Fannie on the back. The other photograph of the same portrait is inscribed by Robert Browning with the date and place.
