Content description
A collection of ephemeral material relating to the centenary of Robert Browning's birth (1812) Elizabeth Barrett-Browning's birth (1806). There is a large poster advertising the celebration of Robert Browning's centenary in Asolo, 1912. In terms of Elizabeth, the bound volume contains a multitude of material, both print and autograph. There are programmes of service celebrating the centenary, photographs of Elizabeth, pressed flowers, many newspaper cuttings and autograph letters from those who were involved or attended the centerary celebrations. Also included is a cutting from a local newspaper in Florence discussing Elizabeth's centerary.
Provenance
The bound volume previously belonged to Fannie Coddington. Her bookplate is on a rear endpaper of the half green calf volume. The book label of Michael Meredith is on the front pastedown.
