The letters, some of which are address to both Henry and Margaret Newbolt, discuss her holiday in Europe and various books Coleridge had read, particularly her opinion of Walter Scott, Shakespeare and Alexander Dumas and the poetry of Tennyson and Browning. The letters also convey congratulation on the birth of their daughter Celia Newbolt.
