The letters are dated 11 January 1879; 23 April 1881; 23 July [1882]; 17 September 1882; 24 September [1882]; 8 October 1882; 12 November 1882; 17 March [1884]; 6 April 1884; 24 April 1884; 29 April 1884; 4 May 1884; 4 August 1884; 24 August 1884; and 9 October 1884.
The letters discuss various books Coleridge has been reading, particularly a books on physics and works by Shakespeare and her opinion on Charlotte Bronte.
Also included is an autograph play programme for ‘Love and Loyalty’ a play put on my Mary Coleridge and her close circle of friends on 10 January 1878.
The letter dated 8 October 1882 inlcudes a manuscript of the poem with the first line 'The rain, the rain, has got into my brain' and the letter dated 29 April 1883 contains a manuscript of the poem with the first line 'What is tht which we are even vainly seeking'.
