Celia Newbolt (later Furze) was the daughter of Margaret and Henry Newbolt, a friend of Mary Coleridge. Coleridge taught Celia and was known to her a ‘Aunt Mary’

Nine autograph letters from Coleridge to Newbolt, with one additional letter from Florrie Coleridge to Newbolt. The letters contain images of fairy kingdoms and the countryside.
Also included are four manuscript poems written by Mary Coleridge:
1.‘For Celia’, which was written for Newbolt’s birthday
2. ‘Introduction’
3. ‘A Monk’s Tale’
4. Untitled poem by Mary Coleridge in Margaret Newbolt’s hand. The poem was written for Newbolt’s sister Helen on her wedding day in 1895 and contained in a red notebook
Kept with the letters is an envelope in which Celia Newbolt originally kept the letters and is marked by her as ‘aunt Mary’s letters to me’
