Thomas Hardy collection: Facsimile of 'Moments of Vision and Miscellaneous Verses'

1 volume
This facsimile of 'Moments of Vision and Miscellaneous Verses', published in 1917, is taken from the original manuscript in the Old Library, Magdalene College, Cambridge. It was published by Paradine in association with Magdalene College, Cambridge. Bound in navy morocco and kept in slipcase.
Hardy often destroyed the early drafts of his poems but he did preserve fair copies of 918 poems. These were bound up in eight volumes to match the eight volumes of poetry he published, and Hardy presented them to libraries and institutions that he had been associated with in the past. This volume, presented to Magdalene College, contains the manuscripts of the 159 poems in 'Moments of Vision' and an extra manuscript, that of 'Men Who March Away'. The fair copies in these volumes would've been the ones sent to the printer as his copy-text.
This edition is limited to 200 copies. This is number 5.
