Blunt was an art teacher, author, artist and curator of the Watts Gallery at Compton, Surrey between 1959 and 1983. He taught art at Eton College between 1937 and 1959.
Gertride Bugler played Tess in productions of Hardy’s ‘Tess of the D'Urbervilles’ in Dorchester and London in the 1920s.

Typed notes by Wilfrid Blunt for an unpublished article on Gertrude Bugler, who famously played Tess in 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles'. Blunt's notes were based on a typescript by Bugler, that she had allowed him to see, about her memories of Thomas and Florence Hardy.
A photocopy of Bugler's typescript is also included in the file: ‘My Memories of Thomas and Florence Hardy’, 110pp.
