John Frederick Symons Jeune (1849-1925) was the Examiner of Standing Orders for the Houses of Lords and Commons. He was the father of Dorothy Hanbury of Kingston Maurward and related by marriage to Hardy's friend Lady St. Helier and to Emma Hardy's uncle.
