The letters concern various general and personal matters such as financial issues and includes mentions of the children Nelly and Teddy (E.A. Craig). The letters also reference Gordon Craig’s life while they were apart, including the other women and children in his life, including D.N.L.
Elena also provides advice and support to Craig, responding to questions about the publication of ‘The Mask’ in particular. The letters refer with various people Craig worked with, particularly Count Kessler as well as his work and writings, including woodcuts and black figures, as well as his theatre ideas.
Also included is a draft letter from Edward Gordon Craig to Elena, but which was never sent. The letter discusses his travel plans, money worries, DNL, and ‘The Mask’.
