Typed letters from Sir Ashley Clarke and Bernard Miles to Edward A. Craig relating to the ‘Friends of Edward Gordon Craig Fund’. The group, set up by Miles and Clarke, with the help of Laurence Oliver, John Gielgud and Laurence Irving, included actors, designers, producers and others involved in the theatre, aimed to assure that Edward Gordon Craig had financial security for the rest of his life through the payment of a regular sum.
Also included is a typed list of contributors, a circular to member regarding the fund, and a facsimile of a letter from Edward Gordon Craig, thanking the group for their generosity.
