Content description
An album of three double-sided 12-inch records containing talks by Edward Gordon Craig, recorded for the BBC between 1951 and 1961, and an accompanying brochure. The album was created by Discurio (London: 1962) and was available through subscription. The publication was timed to coincide with Craig’s 90th birthday and Craig designed the cover.
It includes the following talks:
‘Reminiscences if Ellen Terry’ (In two parts)
‘Irving’s Way’
‘On the Old School of Acting’
‘Isadora Duncan’
‘A Note on Masks’
‘Celebrities I have met’
‘How I Played Hamlet in Salford, Lancashire’
The printed brochure contains previously unpublished extracts from Craig’s diary and is illustrated with some of his woodcuts.
Loosely enclosed in the album are subscription forms and letters from ‘E.J’ on behalf of Discurio, to Edward Gordon Craig, regarding the sale of his material and the production of the recordings
