The file includes an autograph and corrected typescript draft of a lecture given by Edward A. Craig the Edward Gordon Craig Memorial Lecture at the 6th International Course on Theatre History at the International Institute for Theatre Research, Venice (14 September 1968), which focused on Gordon Craig work with Herkomer on ‘Dido and Aeneas’. Also included are notes regarding the lecture, a diagram of Gordon Craig’s design for the production and a photograph of a young Gordon Craig.
The file also contains papers relating to an adapted version of the lecture, published in Theatre Research vol. X, no.1, 1969, including:
