Collected by Gertrude C. Bindloss (later Tapper), who was Edward Gordon Craig’s first governess, and friend of Ellen Terry. After her death, her nephew passed the scrapbook to Edward A. Craig.
It is compiled of programmes and articles, news cuttings and ephemera relating to Ellen Terry and her career as an actor.
In particular, it contains:
News cuttings showing photographs of Ellen Terry in a variety of roles.
A programme for ‘Captain Brassbound’s Conversion’, (Royal Court Theatre, 28 April 1906)
A leaflet for ‘Our Ellen’ a play about the life of Ellen Terry performed at the Birmingham Rep: Studio Theatre.
The press cuttings and articles cover her life, the roles she played and tributes printed after her death.
