This series contains a variety of material relating to actors in role including print and caricatures, and photographs, arranged in a roughly chronological order:

2. John Ryder (1814-1885)
15 photographs of the actor in Shakespeare’s roles (Henry III, The winter’s tale, Richard II), 19th century. Main photographer: Martin Laroche. Featuring other actors such as Kate Terry, Walter Lacy, James Faucit Cathcart.

3. Charles Kean (1818-1868) and Ellen Tree (1805-1880)
14 photographs of Kean and his wife in Shakespeare’s roles (King Lear, Henry V, The winter’s tale, Richard II),19th century. Main photographer: Martin Laroche. Featuring other actors such as Carlotta Leclercq, John Cooper and Caroline Heath.

4. Ralph Richardson (1902-1983)
- 13 photographs of the actor performing Peer Gynt in the Old Vic Theatre Company, 1844. Main photographer: Martin Laroche? Featuring other actors in the company such as George Relph, Margaret Leighton and Joyce Redman.
- 2 photographs of Ralph Richardson performing Arms and the man in the Old Vic Company, 1945. One also featuring Laurence Olivier.

5. Laurence Oliver (1907-1989)
- 17 photographs of the actor and Vivien Leigh on the Australian Tour with the Old Vic Company, 1948. Including one journal cutting and 5 copied of the advertisement for the production of Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekhov.
