Mary Elizabeth Winsland (1821-1872) was the daughter of Elizabeth Hannen (1791-1875) and Nicholas Winsland (c.1790-1846). In 1847 she married her first cousin James Hannen (1821-1894), barrister, judge and Lord of Appeal in Ordinary. They had 7 children:
