Arrangement
The digital collection was disordered and scattered throughout the family archive. The discs have been arranged by the archivist into rough family related groups in 3 envelopes and the paper copies in 1 file.
Physical characteristics
PC with integrated DVD/CD drive required to view the discs. All 48 discs were readable in December 2023.
The discs have not been curated - they have no file names, descriptions nor captions. Some of the sleeves and discs were labeled but not all. The discs appear to include material from other family collections, which may have been loaned for copying but are not present in the archive. These items have few descriptions.
It also appears that not all items in the Hannen family archive as deposited were copied onto these CDs/DVDs.

Existence and location of originals
Also included in this digital collection are negatives of photographs of the Hannen family and houses c.1890s-1920 (no captions/descriptions), the originals of which (MS 920 22 03) were found to contain cellulose nitrate and were removed to cold storage in 2022 by College Conservator.
