02. William Hawes: The Apollo: a selection of ancient and modern catches, glees, canons, epigrams etc. Vol. 3, with inscription, ‘Malcolm Arnold with love from Mother Jan/39’.
03. Bound volume of manuscript music, ‘Beneditta sia la Madre’ and other songs, inscribed on inside front cover ‘B M Blathorne Esq. April 19th 1839’, front cover becoming detached, spine broken – fairly fragile binding.
04. Mendelsohn: Elijah inscribed ‘William Hawes [Malcolm Arnold’s maternal great- grandfather], 19 Princes Rd. Gt Yarmouth’ (n.d.) – 2 copies
05. Maria Merest [Malcolm Arnold’s maternal great-grandmother]: ‘I head thy fate without a tear’ – Ballad by Byron (n.d.), inscribed ‘Willie Hawes Esq.[….] November 1870’ – very fragile and torn loose sheets
