Copies of supplements to the London Gazette, which were published between 1941 and 1950 on behalf of the government it provided the official public record of events during the war.
A number of the issues have been signed by prominent and high ranking officers who served during the Second World War, including: Field Marshal Lord Alanbrooke; Field Marshal Archibald Wavell; Admiral of the Fleet Andrew Cunningham, 1st Viscount Cunningham of Hyndhope; Field Marshal B.L. Montgomery; and Field Marshal Sir Claude Auchinleck
