Consisting of a bundle of letters and papers relating to Elizabeth Hutchings, Belinda Norman-Butler and the Thackeray family.
They were originally help loose in plastic sleeves and have been divided into envelopes for preservation purposes
It includes:
- A family tree of the descendants of William Makepeace Thackeray
- A photograph of Belinda Norman-Butler in her garden
- An autograph list of the individual letters held as part of the collection (see MS 931 01-04 for the letters themselves) however the numbering does not correspond with the actual numbers on the letters
- Autograph notes made by Hutchings on the collection and notes on various publications including Belinda Norman-Butler’s memoir for her brother James and Hutching’s edited edition of ‘Freshwater Friends’
- Additional letters from Belinda Norman-Butler to Elizabeth Hutchings not kept as part of series of individually numbered letters
- Letters to Elizabeth Hutchings regarding Belinda Norman-Butler and other family members and other research papers
- Personal papers including invitations and postcards
