Black leather India Office despatch box with brass handle and lock, with 'Mr. Richmond Ritchie' 'I[ndia].O'[ffice] and 'G[eorge]R[ex]' embossed on lid, in which the papers in this series were originally kept by his family
Physical characteristics
The box contains a small inner tray; there is no key and since removing the papers, the lock no longer opens
