William Roberts, eldest son of Provost Roberts, was at Eton from 1769 to 1780. He was made a Fellow in 1786, and was Vice Provost from 1818 to 1833. In 1801, he became rector of Worplesdon.

Verses in Latin and English. Loose verses bound together. Writers include Roberts, Chamberlayne, Wellesley and Canning. Loose index at front giving title, page, date and author. Inscribed "Wm Roberts, Worplesdon".
Provenance
An accompanying letter, dated 24 September 1890, from W.R. Paton to the Headmaster states that his father got it from the library of an Eton Fellow, Roberts.
