Richard Okes was a King's Scholar at Eton from 1811 to 1817. In 1823 he returned to Eton as an assistant master. In 1838 he was elected Lower Master and in 1850 became Provost of King's College, Cambridge.

Biographical notes on the authors of the published Musae. Includes some verses in Latin, extracts from school lists. From reverse of volume "Exercise for the Burney Prize, 1851". Inscribed "Biographical Notices for Musea Et. R. Okes".
