This committee was set up in 1951 to scrutinise the accounts of the School Fund, House Fund and Amalgamated Games Fund and submit them to the Provost & Fellows; to submit a consolidated financial account for the school; and to sanction items outside the estimates. All these committees were chaired by the Head Master, who appointed a Chairman of Committees to deputise for him when necessary.The Finance Committee members were the Head and Lower Masters, the Chairman of the School Fund Committee, three masters elected by their colleagues, one nominated by the Head Master, and the Bursar. It was charged with the general financial oversight of the school and the detailed implementation of P&F decisions.
In 2010, following a major reorganisation, this committee was abolished and replaced by a group consisting of the Head Master's senior team, the Bursar and the Director of Finance, reporting to the Standing Committee of the Provost and Fellows.
