Content description
From 1792 every boy arriving at the school has signed the entrance book [register], so that from that date we have a complete list of boys. Up to 1837, only the age and date of birth are given. From 1837, the dame and tutor are noted, and from 1863 the parents' address is included. From 1880, the preparatory school is also given.
If a boy is not in the entry book the presumption is he did not attend the College.

Publication note
The Old Etonian Association produced printed registers of boys at the school with mini biographies. These published registers cover 1840 - 1919, and can be viewed online at http://archives.etoncollege.com
