This was set up in 1960 to provide assistance for masters on sabbatical or wishing to attend courses, make study tours or accompany expeditions. Occasional assistance was also given for the purchase of books or equipment. From 1978 it ceased to be responsible for sabbaticals.

Content description

The papers consist of annual files of applications for grants, with occasional accounts of the activities undertaken with their assistance, and annual reports to the Head Master. There are interesting comments by some of the committee that administered the Fund on their colleagues' proposals.

Arrangement

The date given is the year in which the grant was used but correspondence may well date from the preceding year as applications were made well in advance.
