Sunday morning. When he left on Sunday was a little pained at what EC had shown him but clear that he ought to ignore what was not meant for his sight. `Let us both forget it'. `Do not fancy that the injury you have received is from Eton feelings. It was simply the result of voices from without, and the mischief they and they only have done may be repaired'. The affection of your pupils and there friends will support him at Eton and he trusts an amende honorable from his real assailants will do so elsewhere. These words are the outpourings of a true friendship.
