King's Scholar 1915-1921; Assistant Master 1924.3-1962.3; House master 1937-1952
Son of Sir Henry Babington-Smith the financier, he followed in his father's footsteps as a King's Scholar at Eton from 1915 - 1921. Tomline Prizeman in 1921, he also rowed in the VIII and played in College Wall. After obtaining a first at King's College Cambridge he returned to Eton as an assistant master and remained until his retirement in 1962. From 1937 - 1952 he was a housemaster.
