In 2005 the society appears to have ceased to operate. It was revived in 2009, and debating in the school was divided into internal school debating and national debating. In 2011, the office of Keeper of Debating was created by the Head Master to encourage greater participation. The Keeper is responsible for external debating, and the society secretaries for internal debating. Individual debates and summaries of the opposing speeches ceased to be recorded.
