Started by Dr Porter, the Eton College Photographic Society [ECPS] held its first meeting in July 1890, and first exhibition in October 1890. Membership was open to past and present Etonians, after 3 photographs had been submitted to the President for approval. The Society contributed an annual exhibition on St Andrew's Day of prints and transparencies for the Magic Lantern.
