Content description
Includes a photocopy of the contract of 1914 instating the Waterman’s Emergency Fund, which endeavoured to look after the ‘poor’ watermen looking after the river and the locks should they be entitled to aid. In the 1980s and 1990s this Fund mainly pays for Christmas gifts sent to lock keepers by Mr K.A. Masser. A payment from the fund of £500 is requested and granted to an ex-waterman suffering with an illness in 1992. File includes notices of approval by the bursar.
