1972 -
The Eton Calendar, starting in 1885, gives detailed information about the curriculum for the 19th and early 20th centuries. Educational Course booklets covering the whole school were produced from 1971/2 to 1985/6 and in the intervening years it appears to have been left to individual departments to issue notices about their subjects at their own discretion. These became more elaborate as both the choices available to boys and the need to decide on possible subjects well in advance increased.
Since 1993, separate booklets have been issued (not necessarily every year) covering the curriculum for F & E blocks, D block and C & B blocks. An "Outline of the Curriculum" for 1999-2001 and 2001-2003 relates mainly to F & E. Separate booklets outline what subjects are available in General Studies (renamed Options in 1991) and from the 1990s booklets to guide tutors in private business have also been provided.
