Administrative / Biographical history
Founded by Dr Warre in 1879 who wished to teach the elements of engineering, forgework and carpentry to those who would later manage large estates. In 1926 a new School of Mechanics was built on the site of the Old Drill Hall (now Alington School and the Caccia Centre) and in 1978 this was replaced with a new building on South Meadow Lane.
