Although there were alterations between the 1840s and the 1940s, they are mainly covered in the Provost and Fellows minutes, records of the various war memorial funds, or, in the case of the uncovering and restoration of the wall paintings, by printed works. The files of the Bursar and the Provost for the new windows made necessary by the destruction of the Victorian glass by bomb damage in December 1940, and for the replacement of the roof are very detailed. They cover all the negotiations with Evie Hone (1894-1955) over the east window as well as the work of John Piper (1903-1992) and Patrick Reyntiens (1925-) who were responsible for the eight flanking windows after her death.
