At Lady Owen's played backgammon with the Turkish ambassador and talked (in French and Greek) to members of his suite; the ambassador's nephew wore a dagger ornamented with diamonds. Mentions plays and pantomimes. Dined with a group including Dr Burney, Dr Warner and Porson, at which Horne Tooke was toasted; two coachloads of people supposedly involved in treasonable correspondence have arrived from Manchester.
