Devil's Bridge, night in 'gentleman's house with dirty sheets'; further sightseeing including Hafod House and Aberystwyth (where he was shocked by seeing a girl with bare ankles leaving a bathing machine and walk back 'her shape as visible as if she was quite naked'). Journey to Machynlleth; dined with agreeable company; to Dolgellau (a miserable town). General observations on prices, roads, cleanliness, English spoken. PLACE: Tan-y-Bwlch
